Yes. According to the Social Security Administration, payments will continue with no change in payment dates.
Social Security field offices are still able to help you file your application, but your application may not be processed until the shutdown has ended.
If you already have a hearing date scheduled, your hearing will still take place on the date you were given. Unfortunately, until the shutdown is over, Social Security is not scheduling new hearings.
According to the Social Security Administration’s 2013 contingency plan, decision-writing will be discontinued during the shutdown. So while your case may go before a judge during your hearing, it’s most likely a decision will not be issued for the time being.
